Exhibit: Becoming a Bonsai, June 25 – August 28, 2011, National Bonsai & Penjing Museum

How do they do that? This exhibit demonstrates the steps involved in creating a bonsai, and shows the process that transforms a common crape myrtle into a charming bonsai through pruning, wiring, and repotting. Artifacts from the museum’s collection will also be displayed, including tools used by renowned bonsai masters Toshio Kawamoto, John Naka, and Yuji Yoshimura. Free.
